Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt able to share openly about his profound loss.
"Adequate time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor posted archival material from the production, adding that he cannot recall "one day without laughter".
"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes continued.
He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

In a distinct piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.
