The children's author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was reached following an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour involving young women.

The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
