Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, however can the English top division leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.
In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's new album, the new release, is available on Friday.
Football and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I won't force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer side," he added.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.
The Hammers' sole on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was previously that team's manager.
So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.
My son told me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
Fulham have got lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.
But I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
