President Trump Welcomes Families of Shot National Guard Members to the White House
Former President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the White House.
He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “heartbroken”.
Background on the Tragic Shooting
Specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The commander-in-chief said he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both members of the West Virginia Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump told the press. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Mourners assembled over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.
Both they had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to aid policing efforts in the capital.
Remembering the Soldier
“She was the individual that instructors desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a bright grin and a positive energy that lifted those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of her alma mater, informed the media. “She was sweet, caring and always willing to help others.”
Funeral details for Sarah are still being arranged.
Judicial Measures and Government Revisions
Officials have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and charges of attempted murder while armed.
The incident led the administration to halt asylum processing and halt issuing entry permits to possessors of travel documents.
Condition of Andrew Wolfe
The airman, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, according to the Associated Press.
