'Living a Nightmare': Families of Missing Teens Desperately Seek Information After Ski Resort Fire
The families of teenagers lost after a tragic fire at a bar in a Swiss ski resort are enduring an painful wait for confirmed information and requesting any details about their loved ones publicly.
The inferno ripped through the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the mountains of the Valais region, in the small hours of New Year's Day. Confirmed images show the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.
Authorities have indicated that it could take considerable time to formally name the those who perished of the disaster, which claimed the lives of 40 people and hurt another scores more. Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives full-time in the country, was also present on New Year's Eve, according to sources.
Her sibling has published an urgent request online, saying the family has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also unaccounted for.
