FC Barcelona Ready for Historic Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
