England versus the Chinese team – Female Exhibition Match
Introduction
Welcome everyone to the friendly match between the English side and China at the iconic Wembley. The match is set to be a thriller with the current Euro titleholders facing the holders of the Asian Cup title.
The iconic Wembley is fully booked for the occasion, which will see Fran Kirby celebrated pre-match after her international retirement before the Euro tournament this past summer.
Squad announcements will be shared imminently, but there was a late squad update for England. On Friday, the goalkeeper Khiara Keating withdrew from the squad with a small issue, and so ex-first choice Ellie Roebuck has been added to the squad.
With Hannah Hampton injured, it will be interesting to see who England manager Sarina Wiegman selects in goal. Those details along with further updates are on the way before the opening whistle at 5:30 in the evening GMT.
Squad Updates
Squad details are now available. Anna Moorhouse is the starting keeper for England in the absence of Hannah Hampton and Khiara Keating.
England: Moorhouse, Bronze, Charles, Walsh, Le Tissier, Morgan, Mead, Stanway, Russo, Toone, Hemp.
Substitutes: Hings, Baggaley, Kendall, Wubben-Moy, Beever-Jones, Kelly, Kearns, Park, Blindkilde Brown, Roebuck, Clinton, Denton, Fisk, Godfrey.
We are awaiting the Chinese lineup now; when it comes through, I will post it.
