Brassic Ends Its Run with Tarantino-Inspired Last Episode
Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are wrapping up on their comedy series about a close-knit group of endearing rogues running riot in a rural Lancashire town. One could anticipate the last episode to be a nostalgic highlight reel of booze, drugs and cheeky thievery. However, the vibes are distinctly darker as the character Vinnie, played by Gilgun and the gang hole up in a bar with criminal figure Davey MacDonagh for a climactic 50th episode seemingly influenced by the filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.
The Show Dragons' Den
8pm on BBC One
Dancers from the ballet world enter the den this week, as mothers Laura and Stacey pitch their range of inclusive dancewear – and send Peter Jones into a spin. Then, an eye surgeon turned inventor has a smart device for misplaced tape edges.
The Series All Creatures Great and Small
9pm on Channel 5
The animal-related escapades are generally good, but this superior period drama earns its corn with emotional character development. An especially moving installment intertwines the tales of a lame shire horse and a missing young cow into a more serious storyline focusing on Tristan, whose actions lead to a fraternal intervention.
The Hack
9pm, ITV1
The journey has been lengthy. But the second-to-last episode of this initially sluggish but eventually gripping series about phone hacking sees David Tennant’s Nick discovering details about the News of the World’s conduct that the other media outlets simply can’t ignore. Things are also looking up for the character Dave, who has a surprising new ally.
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK
9pm, BBC Three
Jazz hands at the ready: it’s time to stage Peter Pansy – The Rusical! That means the stress increases for the drag performers to perform vocally, dance, and act and finally impress as they get ready for the show. And what better guest judge than West End stage legend Mazz Murray, together with Graham Norton, Michelle Visage and RuPaul.
The Iris Affair
9pm on Sky Atlantic
Anyone afraid of insects will want to fast-forward as episode six begins, before something of a Mexican (or rather Sardinian) standoff occurs, when Cameron forces Iris to swap her diary for the hostaged Joy – else she’ll be “shot repeatedly” from Meski’s menacing drone … How to get out of this one?
